By our estimates, the Black Lives Matter movement has left at least $583.4 million in property damage in seven years. A shocking $569.8 million of the total came in 2020 alone after rioting and looting broke out in Louisville, Ky., Atlanta, Ga., Kenosha, Wi., Portland, Ore., and Minneapolis, Mn.
In 2014, riots in Ferguson, Miss., cost at least $4.6 million damages. The St. Louis Business Journal wrote that “17 businesses saw their buildings damaged so badly they are currently deemed “unsafe structures” and eight buildings “burned completely.”
The 2015 Baltimore riots caused an estimated $9 million in damages, which the struggling and impoverished city could not afford.
This year, Louisville riots cost the several million dollars, while riots in Atlanta cost between $10-15 million. Looters and rioters in Minneapolis left $500 million in damages in its wake with at least 400 business damaged. The damages left by rioters in Portland cost at least $4.8 million and the total damages in Kenosha rose to $50 million.
Contrary to the media narrative, the Black Lives Matter movement is far from a peaceful protest movement because it has left over half a billion dollars in property damages since its founding, and counting.
